New Wave NYC Theatrical Run
We’re partnering with AZN AMERICANA to bring NEW WAVE back to the city with a limited theatrical run at DCTV’s Firehouse Cinema!
This film sheds light on an untold chapter of the Asian diaspora, moving beyond war stories to highlight the creativity, joy, and iconic culture that Vietnamese refugees built in 1980s America. We believe New Wave is one of many stories that deserves to be shared with the world.
AZN AMERICANA, a nonprofit collective for Asian women & femmes, is proud to serve as the impact producer for New Wave Documentary and excited to partner with Welcome to Chinatown for its NYC theatrical run.
In addition to sharing this story, we're honored to work with New Wave director Elizabeth Ai. Elizabeth is a Chinese-Vietnamese-American Emmy award-winning producer, with a long filmography of independent narratives and branded content for companies like National Geographic, ESPN, and VICE. Did you know that New Wave is her first feature documentary? We're so excited to support New Wave's theatrical release in NYC, and continue empowering and bolstering creatives in our community.
We cannot wait for you to see the film, and meet the team behind it!
