Small Business Peer Circle: Navigating Tariffs (Copy)
Navigating headwinds together.
Running a small business in today’s economy comes with no shortage of challenges. From shifting tariffs to unpredictable market conditions, it’s more important than ever to have a trusted community to lean on. Join us for an informal Peer Circle hosted by Welcome to Chinatown—a space for small business owners and entrepreneurs to come together, share experiences, and learn from one another.
We’ll be facilitating a guided but open conversation around how businesses are adapting to current economic pressures, including rising import costs and uncertainty in consumer spending. This is not a panel or presentation, but rather a chance to connect, vent, exchange ideas, and find solidarity with others navigating the same headwinds. WtC staff will be present to listen and identify ways we can better support your needs.
Drop in and out as needed during gathering. Small bites and refreshments will be catered for all attendees. Approval required because this is for small business owners only.

Founder Talk: Going Independent in 2025 with Hope King
Kicking off our Founder Talks series!
We’re kicking off Founder Talks with a special conversation featuring Hope King, a former finance exec turned journalist. Hope has helped shape three of the most successful media startups of the past decade — Business Insider, Cheddar and Axios. She’s now the founder of her own media venture, Macro Talk: a bold new video platform focused on the economy and labor market.
The evening will begin with a screening of the debut episode of Macro Talk, featuring author and business strategist Dorie Clark in a timely conversation on how to deal with AI and political uncertainty in 2025. Following the screening, we’ll sit down with Hope to talk about what it means to go independent in today’s economy, why she chose to build Macro Talk now, and what she’s learning as a first-time founder navigating freelancing, media, and entrepreneurship all at once. Light bites and drinks from Moshi and Lunar will be served.
Founder Talks is a new series that brings you behind the scenes with entrepreneurs navigating the wins, setbacks, and pivotal decisions that don’t always make the headlines. Each talk is a one-on-one, candid conversation with a founder, focused on 1–2 defining moments or hard-won lessons from their journey.
