Based in the heart of NOLITA, Shu’s flower has the best varieties of fresh cut opulence décor for home or office, even a little gift for your loved ones. As flowers are part of daily life, we aim to provide the unique and simple design from bouquets to the chuppah, the table arrangements for our daily customers. Shu’s Flower was a winner of our 2024 Small Business Awards, in the Fan Favorite category! Our Fan Favorite was chosen through an open nomination and voting process – think of it like a people’s choice award. Each year, the nominations and enthusiastic voters remind us of the significance this neighborhood has in the lives of so many.

Check out Ben Hon (@stuffbeaneats) spotlight of Shu’s Flower to learn more about Shu’s story.

Shu and fellow Small Business Award winners were honored at our Gala on September 19th. Small businesses are the heart and backbone of Chinatown. Welcome to Chinatown’s Small Business Awards honor local businesses and entrepreneurs for their contributions to Chinatown and the wider community.

Chinatown Solidarity: 2nd Annual US-Canada Chinatown Cultural Preservation and Revitalization Conference

Building off the success of last year's conference, we will reconvene American and Canadian Chinatown business and cultural leaders to exchange and implement ideas on preserving North American Chinatowns. We aim to strengthen the connections fostered in Vancouver and discuss how the collective #ChinatownSolidarity group can implement the powerful roadmap generated from last year's conference.

New Wave NYC Theatrical Run

We’re partnering with AZN AMERICANA to bring NEW WAVE back to the city with a limited theatrical run at DCTV’s Firehouse Cinema!

This film sheds light on an untold chapter of the Asian diaspora, moving beyond war stories to highlight the creativity, joy, and iconic culture that Vietnamese refugees built in 1980s America. We believe New Wave is one of many stories that deserves to be shared with the world.

AZN AMERICANA, a nonprofit collective for Asian women & femmes, is proud to serve as the impact producer for New Wave Documentary and excited to partner with Welcome to Chinatown for its NYC theatrical run.

In addition to sharing this story, we're honored to work with New Wave director Elizabeth Ai. Elizabeth is a Chinese-Vietnamese-American Emmy award-winning producer, with a long filmography of independent narratives and branded content for companies like National Geographic, ESPN, and VICE. Did you know that New Wave is her first feature documentary? We're so excited to support New Wave's theatrical release in NYC, and continue empowering and bolstering creatives in our community.

We cannot wait for you to see the film, and meet the team behind it!
