CO-FOUNDER & BOARD CHAIR

Jennifer Tam is the co-founder and board chair of Welcome to Chinatown where she oversees the organization’s Board of Directors. Outside of WtC, she also leads executive communications for ServiceNow’s Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer. Her profession has spanned 10+ years in external, internal, corporate and executive communications for emerging and Fortune 500 companies, including VMware, Lenovo, Samsung, Gartner and Foursquare, but her passion is in amplifying the stories and voices of Manhattan's Chinatown where she resided for 10 years. Her fondest memories of Chinatown are typically centered around gatherings brought together by food, and it can be measured in the many (many) times she has had Wo Hop’s salt and pepper squid over rice with a runny egg.

CO-FOUNDER & CEO

Vic Lee is a lifelong New Yorker, a proud product of NYC’s public schools and CUNY, and the daughter of Chinese immigrants. Prior to Welcome to Chinatown, Vic was an industry recognized corporate travel and meetings strategist at The Estée Lauder Companies. Beyond WtC, Vic serves as a State Committee Member for Assembly District 65 and was the former District Leader for 65D. She sits on the board of Gotham Park, working to bring park equity and reimagined public spaces to Lower Manhattan. Previously, she served on alpha Kappa Delta Phi’s National Board, mobilizing thousands of young AAPI women. In her free time, Vic enjoys afternoons with her German Shepherd, Andy, recreating Claire Saffitz recipes, exploring government-led succession planning initiatives, and studying alternative food systems.

CHIEF FINANCIAL AND INVESTMENTS OFFICER

Born and raised in New Jersey, Jenn has fond childhood memories of spending weekends in Chinatown. Prior to Welcome to Chinatown, she worked investing across the capital structure at Crestview, Sequoia Fund and Goldman Sachs's Special Situations Group. She has an A.B. in philosophy from Harvard College. Her shiba inu Kit can often be spotted hanging out in the Hub.

HEAD OF CREATIVE & STORYTELLING

Harry Trinh is a New York City-based experiential designer and art director. Inspired by his upbringing in a Chinese Vietnamese diaspora family and community, he infuses personal memories into his work at Welcome to Chinatown. He holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has previously worked with David Stark Design & Production, The Walt Disney Company, and Knotel (now Newmark).

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Bryan Lozano is a first-generation Filipino-American immigrant who grew up in Elmhurst, Queens. Prior to joining Welcome to Chinatown, he led the Tech:NYC Foundation, scaling K-12 computer science education and workforce development initiatives while launching Decoded Futures, an AI capacity-building program for NYC nonprofits. Bryan brings extensive experience across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors in the service of New York and New Yorkers. He is passionate about expanding economic equity and supporting small businesses and neighborhoods across the city. When he's not working, you can find him running through Queens or exploring the best neighborhood spots.

HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT

Born in Taiwan and raised in NYC, Alice has fond memories of her family's weekly Saturday morning trips from the Bronx to Chinatown. She began her professional career with a year of AmeriCorps service, helping 2,400+ U.S. nonprofits access technology tools and build digital literacy skills. Since then, Alice has spent the last 15+ years telling the right stories and designing communications initiatives for magazine publishers like Forbes, Women's Health, and Men's Health, and leading financial services brands like BlackRock, JPMorganChase, and NerdWallet. Outside of work, she enjoys playing with her niece and nephews, binging on true crime, hunting for oyster happy hours, and live music of all kinds. 

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Erika Scelfo is a New York City-based nonprofit development professional. With a background in supporting small nonprofits serving marginalized communities, she is passionate about uplifting communities of color and ensuring equitable access to resources. Inspired by childhood memories of sharing Sunday dim sum with family, she deeply values the role of small businesses in preserving culture and community.

CHIEF OF STAFF

Amir is a Two Bridges resident who grew up in the Asian enclave of Rockville, Maryland. His educational and research background is in public health, with a focus on the social factors that affect health outcomes. Through his work at WTC, Amir hopes to address key social determinants of health in the community, including economic stability, social/community context, and the built environment. Outside of work he participates in Chinatown community organizing initiatives, spends time at Seward Park, and watches movies at Metrograph.

HUB COORDINATOR

Alan was born and raised in NYC Chinatown. Along with working at Welcome to Chinatown, he and his wife Tita also runs a Thai hot sauce company (Khot Phet) and a Thai Street Food concept (Spicy Make Me Cry), and a creative design tattoo studio (Soul Ink NYC) in Brooklyn. He also loves to golf and spend time with their dog Padthai and cat Charco. Alan wants to be able to give back to the community that helped raise him and have given him so much in his life. He hopes to see Chinatown thrive so future generations can experience what he was so fortunate to experience growing up.

HUB COORDINATOR

Alice Yang was born and raised in Chinatown, Manhattan. Along with her background of marketing and psychology, she is dedicated to helping the community she grew up in to prosper. Inspired and driven by the wisdom of her greatest mentor—her grandmother—she lives by the words: “Chinatown is golden.”

Sonny spent the past several years working in advertising and marketing, helping brands tell meaningful stories and build strong community engagement. He first learned about Welcome to Chinatown when it began spotlighting the struggles of small businesses during the pandemic - a moment that deeply resonated with him as someone who has always cared about preserving the heart and culture of our neighborhoods. Now he is a hub coordinator who helps manage the space and front desk.
