Protect Chinatown: Organizations to Support in New York City

Anti-Asian hate is still jeopardizing the safety of the AAPI community in NYC and across the country. 6,603 hate incidents were reported to Stop AAPI Hate from March 2020 to March 2021. We urge you to continue speaking out against this violence and to support and uplift one another. We also encourage you to support our local groups that are ensuring the safety of Chinatown through patrols, escorts, and distribution of alarms and defense devices.

• Protect Chinatown (@protectchinatown) provides escort services and distributes personal alarms and PPE.
• Soar Over Hate (@soaroverhate) has distributed 14k+ personal alarms and pepper sprays through events, visits, and donations.
• ACE NextGen (@acenextgen) partnered with UA3 and Welcome to Chinatown to distribute personal safety alarms.
• The Chinatown Blockwatch patrols Chinatown in response to the increase of anti-Asian hate crimes in NYC.
