Our Latest Financial Transparency Report: $91,000 back into Chinatown, $14,000 raised for Chinatown’s senior community
Hello all, we’re back with another weekly update! In our 6th week of donations for our Feed Our Heroes campaign, your contributions have helped:
Serve a whopping ~2,400 meals, our largest weekly meal donation!
Put back ~$24,000 back into Chinatown businesses, totalling to $91,000 back into the neighborhood to date
We have roughly $28,000 remaining in funds, with a goal of raising $20,000 more to reach our updated fundraising goal of $150,000, which will enable us to continue our Feed Our Heroes program through the current duration of NYC’s PAUSE. As always, we can’t thank you enough for your generous donations, and especially to those who have come up with creative, meaningful ways to drive donations.
This includes:
@runforchinatown running for 12 hours
Creatives like @ericstrange, @paulingford, @belovednewyork, @angela.j.lin.studio, @kidpuddi, @youlovepoon
‘Lucky Grandma’’s virtual theatrical release
Events hosted by Atlas Obscura, MeetingGround, MOFAD, Walmart’s AAPI ARG
University organizations like alpha Kappa Delta Phi chapters at Syracuse, Binghampton, Buffalo and Stony Brook and Lambda Phi Epsilon chapters at Binghamton and Buffalo
Apologies for anyone else we might’ve missed — please know that every initiative to raise funds for Welcome to Chinatown is so deeply appreciated. Your impact is moving mountains for our community!
This week, we’d also like to share our first financial transparency report for our recent Greens for Good initiative. We are thrilled to share that after setting a fundraising goal of $7,000, your contributions DOUBLED this goal, to a total of $14,305 raised! All proceeds will go toward feeding Chinatown’s senior community. You can learn more about the initiative here.
We have been working hard on a couple new projects to further aid Chinatown businesses. More to come from us soon!
With thanks from Chinatown,
Vic, Jen and the Welcome to Chinatown team
