Launching Our New Longevity Fund Accelerator with Too Good To Go
We're excited to announce that Welcome to Chinatown is launching a new Longevity Fund Accelerator in partnership with Too Good To Go, an anti-food waste app! Our goal is to reduce food waste and develop additional revenue streams for Chinatown food establishments.
Our Too Good To Go accelerator will select 10 businesses to receive:
$1,500 grant at completion
Waived Too Good To Go annual fees for one year (All applicants, regardless of whether you’re selected, will receive a 6-month deferred annual fee)
Additional funding and marketing efforts to drive success on the platform.
The objectives of this program are to:
Increase sustainability through increased food waste awareness
Introduce food waste solutions
Support small businesses by understanding and resolving barriers to success
Create a community of AAPI businesses partnered with Too Good To Go, which will also provide opportunities for Chinatown small business owners to network
Replicate success in other communities by sharing findings

About Welcome to Chinatown’s Longevity Fund
The only small business relief program exclusively for Manhattan’s Chinatown. When we started the Longevity Fund to provide short-term relief to our neighborhood’s small businesses at a time of dire need, it became increasingly apparent that in order for Chinatown to remain always open in the face of an unlevel playing field, the community’s businesses need more than short-term aid. Support to small businesses is given in two ways:
Grants - We strive to open an honest dialogue about fiscal and accessible support in order to better understand and help small businesses recuperate losses and drive long-term sustainability. Grants help alleviate overhead costs (rent, labor, insurance, utilities, etc.), and fund special projects, including marketing, design, and operational improvements.
Accelerator - Chinatown’s small businesses have been disproportionately burdened by a lack of access to resources and funding opportunities even prior to the pandemic. Our accelerator provides small business owners with a series of targeted workshops (finance, marketing, operations etc.) led by talented individuals and like-minded companies that will provide customized business strategy suggestions for sustainability and financial independence.
