Behind the Scenes: Made in Chinatown x Fong On

You haven't truly experience tofu until you’ve had it fresh! Taking you behind the scenes of our Fong On Chinatown Collection in collaboration with Pearl river Mart.

Fong On was started by Paul Eng and stems from Fong Inn Too, the oldest family-owned tofu shop in NY that was established in 1933 by Paul's parents but closed in 2017. While the original recipes were never written down, Paul has crafted the shop's current tofu recipes from scratch.

Fong On's Chinatown Collection includes a t-shirt, tumblers, and tote bag featuring the store's delicacies: tofu pudding, rice cakes, soy milk, and herbal tea. Designer Harry Trinh imbued a contemporary feel into the items to showcase Paul's modern rendition of the original store — bridging two generations.
