Amazing! book party with Maia and Alex Shibutani

Celebrating inspiring Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders!

On Saturday, June 17, we partnered up with Yao King and the Committee of 100 to bring the community together with our family-friendly book party at Imperial Ballroom (27-29 Division St.). Featuring our awesome co-hosts Maia and Alex Shibutani, three-time World Medalists ice dancers and authors of the new book, Amazing: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Who Inspire Us All, our goal was to honor the culture and community of Chinatown, as well as the broader AAPI community with our book party.

We prepared many activities for the families in our community, including a book signing with Maia and Alex Shibutani, designing your own tote bag with MKC Threads, a live violin performance, and an AAPI treat trail featuring snacks & sips: cream puff from Butterboy Baking Co, Spot dessert bar, and more! We’re so happy to see that over 100 attendees, especially families and children, joined our event and enjoyed themselves. It is always exciting to see the community gathering up and coming together. Thank you to those who came and supported our book party!

Special thanks to our amazing vendors: MKC Threads, Fizzy Photo Booth, and Butterboy Baking Co, and our sponsors: Homiah, Popadelics, Sanzo, Spot, Tochi, Nguyen Coffee Supply, and Vita Coco.
