Meet Titalie of Spicy Make Me Cry:
Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand Titalie was surrounded by generations of strong women who loved to cook. From her grandma and aunts to her mom who was a professional chef, cooking was a passion and Titalie was no stranger to that as it was in her blood and being Thai, spice was her world.
Titalie’s biggest inspiration was her mom as she would often make her home cooked meals growing up. Her mother paid meticulous attention to selecting the finest and freshest ingredients, insisting that natural, high quality ingredients were the key to crafting a delicious, perfectly balanced, profoundly spicy, and an unforgettable meal. Her passion for food, filled with care and love was passed down to Titalie. And through trial and error refining the recipes her mom, grandma, and aunts had taught her, Titalie made it her own.
When Titalie picked up her life and moved to Brooklyn, NYC she loved to cook and her husband was on the lucky receiving end of that love. Eating every delicious homemade Thai meal that Titalie crafted with passion, love, and detail he would eat it with a big smile on his face even though the spices filled him with tears. After through much persuasion and her husband and close friend’s support and encouragement, Titalie found the courage to share her passion and joy of food, and the love of her Thai culture with the world. And Spicy Make Me Cry was born, an homage to Titalie’s roots and her love of food.
