Join us for a vibrant evening of celebration, conversation, and culture as we dive into the rebellious spirit of the Vietnamese diaspora through the lens of music, art, and storytelling!

Highlights of the Night:

  • Book Talk & Q&A featuring Elizabeth Ai, award-winning director, and Jezz Chung, author and multidisciplinary artist, as they explore Ai’s new book New Wave: Rebellion and Reinvention in the Vietnamese Diaspora. Discover how the post-Vietnam War generation found identity and community in the synthesized sounds of 80s New Wave music.

About the Book:

New Wave tells the untold story of Vietnamese youth in the West who embraced 80s synth-pop, blending rebellion, reinvention, and resilience. Featuring rare archival photos and essays by prominent Vietnamese voices, this is a celebration of a powerful cultural movement.
