Our First Hub Panel Event: “So You Think You Can Pitch”
In late August, Welcome to Chinatown hosted its first panel event at our new Hub. The first (and certainly not last) “So You Think You Can Pitch” event consisted of a panel discussion and networking session with the hopes of helping first-time and novice small business owners or entrepreneurs learn everything they need to know about pitching themselves and their businesses.
Why?
Because we know that many of us often shy away from pitching one of the most important things – ourselves. And for entrepreneurs, it can be even more difficult to take the next step because one has to talk about their brand… AND themselves!
We hope that “So You Think You Can Pitch” can provide the community with tips and insights into pitching, all from individuals who have gone through the same experience and have succeeded in their own paths. The panel, moderated by Hope King of Axios, included Maurice Ng of Tings Capital, Sahra Nguyen of Nguyen Coffee and Sam Yoo of Golden Diner.
Over 50 attendees joined us at our Hub that day. The panel provided tips and tricks to 4 different pitchers who shared their own unique product, service, and ideas: Diana Chao of Chaos & Friends, Emily Cherkassky of L. Lu Fine Jewelry, Rena Li of Lotus Haus Studio, and Kelly Bit of Sublima Jewelry. And to close out the evening, a networking session ensued.
Thank you all for attending the successful event - we know many walked away with new contacts, mentors, and support systems from fellow entrepreneurs.
Stay tuned for more “So You Think You Can Pitch” events. Interested in applying for the next one? Reach out.
Lastly, thank you to Michael Yeung, Nguyen Coffee Supply, and Hummy for sponsoring our event!
