Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with our newest merchandise collection

September 21st marks the start of the Mid-Autumn Festival – a joyous time for families to reunite, indulge in mooncakes and light lanterns. Our newest merchandise collection celebrates this joyous holiday by embodying traditions and stories from some of NYC Chinatown’s oldest businesses. This widely observed holiday deserved a collection that was just as grand as the celebrations themselves, so we created 8 new pieces. From apparel to mugs, we have so much in store for you.

Ting’s Gift Shop CrewNeck & Tote Bag

Ting’s is a family-owned and operated Chinatown gift shop that has been open since the 1960s. This small, yet mighty, shop is a treasure trove filled with vintage trinkets, decor, and merchandise. Run by Eleanor and her mother, Ting’s is the perfect example of Old New York, and a true hub sharing ancient Chinese culture. Harry Trinh was inspired by Ting’s history and character to create the collection’s Crewneck and Tote Bag

The Ting’s Gift Shop Crewneck is a beautiful golden color and features iconic vintage Chinatown souvenirs running down the sleeve. The front highlights the old-school price tag design and includes the shop’s address and product offerings. Available here in size S-2XL.

The Ting’s Tote Bag is a recreation of their original plastic bag

design created by their late brother. The detailed design features traditional Lunar New Year festivities and an ornate palace-style lantern, which is also part of their shop’s architecture. This tote bag is perfect for your next grocery run, picnic at the park, or running errands around town. Get it here.

Both of these products highlight traditional Chinese pieces, paying homage to the generational growth of Chinatown and the people who visited decades ago. Symbols such as the waving lucky cat and Guan Yin statues serve as physical representations and almost mascots of Chinese culture in America. These pieces serve as a reminder that Chinatown is filled with treasure, love, and care.

Fay Da Bakery T-Shirt & Mug

Close your eyes and imagine the smell of your favorite Chinese bakery. Feeling the nostalgia yet? If you are an avid Chinese bakery fan and you haven’t tried Fay Da Bakery yet, you are missing out. Started in 1991, this small family-owned business is going strong and serving delicious pastries that blend Eastern and Western culture. We know mooncakes are the go-to treat for the Mid-Autumn Festival, but we had to show some love for the iconic raisin bread in these pieces.

Jenny Acosta’s love of raisin bread and childhood memories inspired the designs of our Fay Da Bakery Bread Tee and Mug. The simple slice of bread allows the iconic raisin loaves to shine. It’s simple, yet so detailed that you can see all of its texture and crumbs. The t-shirt also features elements from Fay Da’s branding, including their signature checkered green stripe and ribbon logo.

The front of the shirt is subtle and minimal, with a simple pencil drawing of the iconic loaves cradled by their plastic bag case and a twisted knot on top. Available here in sizes S-2XL.

The Fay Da Bakery Mug was inspired by the endless shelves of baked goods in Asian bakeries. There’s nothing better than grabbing a pair of tongs and a tray while you browse through all the bread and pastries. Jenny took inspiration from Western and Eastern cultures and artists, creating this beautiful mug that amplifies the beauty of everyday Asian bakeries. Get it here.

Dreamers Coffee T-Shirt & Beanie

Whether you take your morning coffee hot or ice-cold, we think you’ll love Dreamers Coffee. Dreamers Coffee is a locally owned and community-supported coffee house, serving organically and ethically sourced coffee. It was opened in 2020 by Sandy Truong and Daniel Lam, who met while working at a senior social center in Chinatown. They noticed the lack of coffee shops that accommodated seniors, so they decided to open one themselves. They pride themselves on bringing the community together and bridging gaps through coffee. Inspired by their logo and dreamy aesthetics, Kasey Coffey worked her magic to create the Dreamers Coffee House Tee and Beanie.

The Dreamers Coffee House Tee features a simple logo on the front and a beautiful back design showcasing various new logo options. Look closely at the clouds and you may spot their dog Milo! Available here in sizes S-2XL.
