Golden Diner and Welcome to Chinatown Raffle Fundraiser for BIPOC Communities

We are excited to partner with neighborhood friends Golden Diner to (re)introduce the community to just a few of the many amazing small businesses in our beloved neighborhood. Chinatown has been hard hit with devastating obstacles even before the COVID shutdown, but seeing the lights of small businesses slowly come back on over the past 2 weeks has given us hope and cause for celebration. This community is unassumingly but astonishingly brave, resourceful, and resilient. And where the hell else you gonna go to get $2 dumplings?

Inspired by East Village Postal’s raffle, Golden Diner and Welcome to Chinatown are teaming up to host a raffle, giving away many local favorites of the neighborhood with all proceeds going to great community-centric organizations serving the BIPOC community: Brooklyn Rescue Mission, Black Voters Matter Fund and The Brotherhood / Sister Sol.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each ticket for entry is $5, and you can purchase unlimited tickets.

  • Please send payment via venmo: @goodhood-fund and comment with your email/@instagram to get in touch.

  • The winner will be randomly selected and announced in a week and must pick up the package at Golden Diner (more pick up details to come).

We are excited to be providing the following raffle prizes:

...and more!

Other raffle prizes up for grabs, courtesy of local Chinatown and LES businesses:

Get your donations in to @goodhood-fund via Venmo (don’t forget to include your IG handle or email in the comments) and good luck!

Welcome to Chinatown

Welcome to Chinatown is a grassroots initiative to support Chinatown businesses following the rapid decline in business as a result of COVID-19 and increased xenophobia. Welcome to Chinatown serves as a free voice to generate much needed momentum for one of New York City's most vibrant neighborhoods, and offers resources to launch a new revenue stream during this unprecedented time.
