Canal Street Market was always meant to be a launch pad for entrepreneurs and creators, and it did just that. While we’re saying goodbye to the market, the spirit of Chinatown lives in, especially in the vendors it uplifted.

La Lune Boutique is a small atelier and pop-up shop filled with fine details, stunning patterns, delicate huer, and exquisite designs, with an emphasis on floral fabrics and handcratted goods. Designer, maker and curator Maceline Ambroise created La Lune Boutique and runs the business while attending school full time. La Lune boutique has developed through time to include eccentric feminine clothes and handcrafted products. 50% of the products we carry are handmade in New Jersey, 30% are designed by Maceline and 20% are curated from small boutique wholesale vendors. At La Lune Boutique, we place a high value on quality. Our products are crafted using the highest quality materials and are built to last.

The American Design Club (AmDC) was conceived in the spring of 2008. At that time, America’s relevance in the design world was being questioned, with some postulating that US-based designers would never be as influential or productive as their European counterparts. Looking around, however, all we saw was talent and ambition in our fellow American designers, from close friends to former employers to recent design school graduates.
What was missing was an avenue for these designers to share their work with a broad audience. The AmDC's founding members resolved to improve the situation by creating a platform from which designers could launch new ideas and connect with one another.

The brand —formerly known as STUDIO HARU— was founded back in 2019 by multi-disciplinary artist Grace E.G 袁恩典, and in 2020 she decided to pursue this journey fully. By the end of 2024 beginning of 2025, the shop rebranded into what it is known today as MOMOとKAI.
A big part of our work is done in-house, from the development of our products to packaging design, photography, graphic design, social media, and customer service.
