Join us for the grand reopening of Caravan Uyghur Cuisine, the ultimate destination for mouthwatering Uyghur delicacies! Located in New York's Financial District, this event promises an unforgettable culinary experience.
Caravan Uyghur Cuisine was opened in July 2020 by Abdul Ahad Ababakri. The original location was on Pearl Street, and was Manhattan’s first full-blown Uyghur restaurant.
Featuring classic Uyghur dishes such as savory lamb pilaf, handmade meat dumplings, cumin kebabs, and “big tray chicken,” Caravan Uyghur Cuisine’s offerings were a hit with their customers and have been featured in publications such as Eater and The Infatuation.
Despite the success and popularity among customers, the restaurant was forced to close in August 2022, after a landlord dispute. Fortunately, Chef Bakri never gave up on his vision to bring delicious Uyghur cuisine to New York. With the support of the Uyghur NextGen Project and Welcome to Chinatown, Chef Bakri has reopened Caravan at a new, larger location.
Indulge in Caravan's authentic Uyghur dishes, bursting with flavors and spices that will transport you to the vibrant streets of Kashgar. From juicy kebabs to savory hand-pulled noodles, the menu offers a wide array of tantalizing options. Immerse yourself in the rich Uyghur culture as you savor every bite.
Don't miss this opportunity to join the Bakri family and the reopening of Caravan Uyghur Cuisine!
