FAQs

What is Chinatown Restaurant Week®?

Chinatown Restaurant Week® is a celebration of the vibrant food culture that defines Manhattan’s Chinatown. For a limited time, participating restaurants will offer special prix-fixe menus for dine-in or takeout—giving you a delicious reason to explore and support local businesses.

When is it happening?

Monday, May 19 to Saturday, May 24. Make your reservations or stop by participating spots during this week to take advantage of special deals and exclusive menus.

How does this support Chinatown?

Every dollar spent helps sustain the small businesses that keep Chinatown’s culture and community vibrant. But your support goes beyond a single meal. For many participating restaurants, this is their first time creating a prix-fixe menu. Chinatown Restaurant Week® is not just a celebration—it’s also a training ground. It gives businesses the chance to experiment, build confidence, and gain tools that will help them grow long after the week is over. Your visit directly supports that learning and momentum.

What is a prix-fixe menu?

A prix-fixe menu is a set menu at a fixed price, often including multiple courses. Think appetizer, main, and dessert bundled together so you get great value while trying signature dishes curated by the chef—including off menu specials at some participating restaurants!

How much does it cost?

Prix-fixe menus range in price depending on the restaurant. We’re working with a variety of businesses to offer accessible options, so there’s something for everyone. For dine-in restaurants, the final price will include 18% gratuity and third party processing fees.

I have dietary restrictions. Can I make substitutions?

Menu substitutions cannot be accommodated for dietary restrictions due to the prix-fixe nature. If you’re booking a dine-in reservation, please ensure you review the menu carefully prior to booking.

Can I still order off the regular menu?

Yes, unless otherwise stated, you can still order from the regular menu. The prix-fixe is a limited-time offer designed to help you try something new (and support Chinatown while you’re at it). For dine-in restaurants, any items separate from the Chinatown Restaurant Week® menu will be paid on a separate check at the end of your dining experience.

How do I book a reservation?

Reservations for Chinatown Restaurant Week® can be made directly on this webpage. Just scroll to the participating dine-in restaurant you’re interested in and click on their unique booking link.

We’re using Eventbrite for all reservations to help streamline operations—especially since this is the first time many of our restaurants are participating in a promotion like this.

Do all businesses require a reservation?

The dine-in restaurants will require reservations to try the Chinatown Restaurant Week® menu. Because the menus may feature off menu specials, reservations are necessary to avoid food waste and manage expectations. Fast casual restaurants do not require a reservation. Just walk in!

Why do prix-fixe menus require a reservation for 2 or more people?

To help restaurants manage portions and kitchen operations more efficiently, Chinatown Restaurant Week® prix-fixe menus are designed for parties of two or more. This allows restaurants to batch-prepare dishes more easily, minimize food waste, and ensure that your meal is served promptly and smoothly. It also helps restaurants forecast ingredient needs during this high-traffic week so they can focus on providing the best experience possible.
